The crypto market remains volatile as bitcoin bounces below $79,000 after a weekend of strong liquidations, but attention shifts to corporate initiatives related to tokenization. Bed Bath & Beyond announced a strategic plan to enter real-world assets, with an immediate impact on the stock, which rose 7% on Monday.
The company has signed an agreement to acquire Tokens.com, a blockchain infrastructure focused on finance and digital assets. The goal is to build a platform dedicated to real estate tokenization and other real assets, integrating traditional financial instruments and regulated blockchain services.
According to the announcement, the platform will allow users to view properties, appraised values and liquidity options. Tokenization, custody and trading functions will be managed through tZERO, while mortgages and home equity will be offered with partners such as Figure. The launch is expected by mid-2026, subject to closing conditions.
The operation marks the post-renovation evolution of Bed Bath & Beyond, emerging from bankruptcy in 2023. The project is part of a broader trend of adopting RWA tokenization, as companies and financial platforms experiment with onchain infrastructures for traditional assets.
